Run For The Warriors™

Hope For The Warriors™ has announced that the 3rd Annual Run For The Warriors™ will take place aboard Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C., on May 17, 2008.

The Run For The Warriors™, which will include a 10K, 5K and 1 mile run course, is part of the Marine Corps Grand Prix Series, and all finishers are eligible for Marine Corps Grand Prix points. The race will start from Goettge Memorial Fieldhouse aboard Camp Lejeune.

Wheelchair/hand-bike racers are encouraged to participate. Additionally, a Unit Challenge has been issued to all military units including Spouse groups. Awards will be presented for unit participation.

“You could not have paid me a greater honor than the privilege I received of running beside the wounded warriors, veterans, the service members, their families and everyone else that recognized how important it was to turn out and express their appreciation,” said hand bike participant, D. Paul Kelly, after the 2007 Run For The Warriors™.

The money raised from the Run For The Warriors™ will support Hope For The Warriors’™ Programs established to meet the needs of service members who have been wounded in the War on Terrorism and their families, as well as the families of the fallen.
